The payment landscape in Lithuania is evolving. The market is diversified, and competitive with wide acceptance of payment methods and digital solutions are rapidly gaining ground. Card payments in particular are increasing quickly, as measured by the Central Bank.
Our research shows that Lithuanian consumers utilise diverse payment methods. Cash and card remain the top choices in line with the European average. At the same time both merchants and consumers in Lithuania have a higher openness than in the rest of Europe towards accepting and using standard bank transfers and instant payments.
